This is The classic Sherlock Holmes book, and it is worthy of the name.
It varies a little from the majority of the Sherlock Holmes works, as it spends a lot of time with Watson thinking he is without Holmes.
The summary: a man has died, and it seems he dies of fright at his family home on the moors of England, seeing a hell hound that is supposed to be the curse of his family.
His only heir is in America and arrives. Friends seek Holmes advice on what to do.
Much tension and intrigue occurs as we find out who has an interst in these deaths, and how their plan has come about.
As usual – worth reading!
