This is one of the boy’s christmas books – I was very surprised to see how thick it is! This will take days – Fantastic Mr Fox only took a couple of days (and so I didn’t count it here), and that only because I fell asleep reading it.
Conclusion:
We enjoyed reading this, but agreed that it was quite different to the movie. For example, the police tracking down Harry Wormwood actually appear on-scene, rather than just being inferred. (Much more than that would be spoilers, and we all hate spoilers…)
This is a great kid’s book – I recommend it to parent’s of small children.
Usual disclaimer: I wouldn’t normally include kid’s books in a ‘what I am reading list’, but I am reading these aloud to my son – if it takes me more than 2 nights to read through out loud, its enough book to include here.
